Tunga, Leyte- "I am the Light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the Light of life" (John 8:12). This verse from the bible is what motivates Leyte III Electric Cooperative, Inc. (LEYECO III) employees to keep on moving forward and reach the coop’s goals with Jesus in their hearts.

 

Every year LEYECO III always makes it a point to honour Jesus for this is their way of thanking Him for all the graces that the coop received, “Last year we honoured Jesus when we created the biggest image of Jesus out of meters damaged from the typhoon Yolanda. Because I know Jesus helped us restore the lights. This year, we created an emblem of Jesus as the great lineman, we should not forget that while our industry is about light, the source of invincible light is Jesus”. GM Allan Laniba said during his message in the 40th Founding Anniversary of Leyte III Electric Cooperative, Inc. GM Allan L. Laniba unveils Jesus’s Portrait as the Great Lineman

 

The emblem was painted by LEYECO III General Manager Allan Laniba, who is a strong believer of God. He never fails to inspire and encourage LEYECO III employees to put Jesus in the center of everything that they do. He added, “Jesus is the first light in the world, he is the first lineman who extended his arms in the forty footer wood cross on the Calvary just to save us from darkness.”

 

All those who attended the momentous occasion gave their acclamations, and the gym was filled with claps, as GM Allan Laniba, unveiled the portrait.

 

“We will create more emblems of Jesus Christ, honouring our savior. We will have an emblem of Jesus as a meter-reader, Jesus as an office worker, Jesus as a board of director, Jesus as a GM, Jesus as a teller so that it will remind us that we are here in LEYECO III not for ourselves but to glorify God in serving others,” GM Allan Laniba declared.

 

Leyeco III is said to be the first and only cooperative that put up the biggest image of Christ and has an emblem of Jesus as the Great Lineman.
